Terms & Conditions
Last updated: August 18, 2026
Please read these Terms of Use ("Terms") carefully before using this website (the "Service"), operated by The Crescent House 1887, LLC and The Chimes Events, LLC ("us," "we," or "our"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part, please do not use the Service.
Use of the site
This website provides information about The Crescent House and lets you send inquiries about tours, events, weddings, workspace, virtual offices, photo and film use, and donations. Submitting an inquiry starts a conversation; it is not a confirmed booking. Reservations, pricing, and availability are confirmed by us directly, and any booking may be subject to a separate rental agreement, deposit, or house rules.
Inquiries and communications
When you submit a form, you consent to us contacting you at the phone number or email you provide in order to respond. Please provide accurate information so we can reach you.
Payments and deposits
Where offered, payments and deposits may be made online or in person. Specific terms, including deposits, cancellations, and refunds, will be provided with your reservation or rental agreement. As of launch, event bookings are held with a 25% deposit, the balance is split into two payments with the final payment due 30 days before the event, one free date change is included up to 90 days before the event, the deposit is non-refundable, and the final payment is non-refundable within 30 days of the event.
Venue and rental policies
These are the standing policies for events, rentals, and use of the property, and they are a summary. The rental agreement you sign for your date is what governs, and it may add terms specific to your event.
- Insurance. Event insurance is required for events and rentals. The coverage required, and who must be named on the policy, are set out in your rental agreement and confirmed with you before your date.
- Music and noise. Music and other loud noise end at 10 PM.
- Smoking. Smoking is permitted only in designated outdoor areas. It is not permitted anywhere inside the building.
- Animals. Service animals are welcome throughout the property. Pets and emotional support animals are not permitted.
- Security. Security requirements for your event are set out in your rental agreement.
- Guest counts. Guest counts are confirmed for your layout and your date as part of booking.
- Open flame. Open flame is not permitted anywhere on the property, indoors or out, with one exception: candles are welcome in the Rose Garden. Sparklers are not permitted anywhere, including the Rose Garden.
- Rice, confetti, and petals. Flower petals are welcome outdoors. Rice and confetti are not permitted anywhere on the property.
- Damage. The deposit that holds your date is applied to the price of your package. It is not a damage deposit, and nothing is held back against damage. Damage to the building, its fixtures, or the grounds beyond ordinary wear from normal use is charged to the renter separately, at the cost of repair or replacement, and may be claimed against the renter's event insurance. The details are set out in your rental agreement.
- Décor and fixings. Anything you bring must come down without leaving a mark. You may hang décor using the fixings already in place and other non-damaging methods. Nothing may be nailed, screwed, pinned, drilled, or glued to walls, woodwork, tile, or any part of the structure, and no new holes may be made anywhere in the building.
- Setup and clear-down. Access for setup begins one hour before your event. Breakdown and clear-down happen within your booked event hours, not after them. Everything brought in leaves the same night; nothing may be stored on the property overnight.
- Children. Children are welcome and must be supervised by an adult at all times.
- Photography by the venue. We photograph the building, and occasionally events in it, for our own use. Tell us in writing before your date if you would prefer that we do not, and we will not.
Intellectual property
The Service and its original content, features, and functionality, including the name, logo, photography, and text, are and will remain the property of The Crescent House 1887, LLC, The Chimes Events, LLC, and their licensors, and are protected by applicable law. Donations
Any donations made to support the preservation of the building are handled through The Crescent Bathhouse Foundation. Donation terms, including tax-deductibility, are described where you give and are separate from the venue's rental operations.
